It all started in November of 2022 with a much-needed vacation to the island of St. Croix. It didn’t take long for the island to have a profound impact on both of us and we knew we would return soon. During that weeklong vacation, we did all the regular tourist things and saved the Gecko’s Island Adventures ATV tour for the day before we were scheduled to fly home. As chance would have it, we met the previous owners, Shawn & Cynthia, who informed us they were looking to sell the business and pursue their own new adventure in Alaska. Over the next ten months, we developed a deep friendship with them, and the stars aligned in ways we can’t begin to understand. We knew in our hearts that the chance to live in paradise and own and run a business together was a once in a lifetime opportunity that we were not going to let slip away. We put our home in Florida on the market and sold it in less than 30 days. The very next day we were on a plane with our beloved tripod rescue dog Shmoo, and a handful of suitcases bound for our new home in St. Croix. This island has a way of speaking to your heart and we feel truly blessed to have visited here, met two of our dearest friends and have the chance to carry on the tradition of Gecko’s Island Adventures.
